Queen's Park's head of goalkeeping Michael McGovern breaks down Calum Ferrie's iconic moment against Rangers 🕷️
Queen’s Park pulled off one of the biggest Scottish Cup upsets in history on Sunday when they beat Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox to progress to the quarter-finals. Goalscorer Seb Drozd’s 69th-minute strike earned him a hallowed place in the club’s history, but goalkeeper Calum Ferrie stole the headlines with a late penalty save from Rangers captain James Tavernier. It capped off a magnificent individual performance from the 26-year-old English goalkeeper.
Michael McGovern took up his role as head of goalkeeping at Queen’s Park last summer after a career in Scotland (Celtic, Ross County, Falkirk and Hamilton Accies) and seven years at Norwich City, including a spell in the Premier League.
McGovern works closely with Ferrie on a daily basis and Nutmeg asked him to analyse his goalkeeper’s iconic performance. This piece covers…
